A Beautiful Noise - The Neil Diamond Musical Evansville Theatre reviews
Aerosmith didn't disappoint Atlanta fans
The high-powered rock 'n' roll bad boys from Boston rolled into Atlanta, bringing their audience of longtime fans, kids as young as grade school, and plenty in between. A Beautiful Noise - The Neil Diamond Musical had Philips Arena jumping all night, mixing newer material to satisfy their hard-core devotees with plenty of well-known hits for the more casual fans. Joe Perry's blazing guitar licks led the way, with the band sounding as good as ever. As the front man and center of attention, Steven Tyler's theatrics were as much fun as the music, a cross between Captain Jack Sparrow of "The Pirates of the Caribbean" movies and a very naughty Peter Pan. The singer often played to the camera, with a videographer following him around on stage with a portable camera. The resulting images were projected onto a large screen behind the band, allowing even those in the nosebleed seats to enjoy Tyler's performance. By the end of the show, no one could say they hadn't gotten their money's worth. If A Beautiful Noise - The Neil Diamond Musical isn't America's greatest rock 'n' roll band, I don't know who is.
